PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON THIS PLANT:
Loropetlum looks fantastic in the Spring. It can be super colorful, but for the rest of the year the foliage to me looks drab. I remember one of my co-workers describing Loropetalum as "soo '80's." I don't know what that means but the leaves are so dark purple they can look dead. For that reason, I think its best to plant Loropetalum as an accent mixed in with other foliage types and not so much as a massing, or in a hedge with greener shrubs surrounding.
