Plants For Houston is my personal adventure into organizing what I know about the plants that thrive in Houston. I live and work in Houston as a landscape architect for commercial applications. That said, I know a bit about plants that need very little love and not so much about the ones that don't. Like a lot of people in Houston, I didn't grow up in Texas and I had a steep learning curve getting to know it's flora and fauna.  I am planning to use this website both as a resource for myself when selecting plants at work and to hopefully serve others as a very basic guide.  All of the pictures I upload will be taken from areas in and around Houston.  I plan to add more an more as I find great examples and can research their characteristics.
